Summary of review and consultation process

Toi Mai Workforce Development Council initiated the review of the suite of outdoor recreation qualifications In August 2023 by holding a wānānga with outdoor recreation industry and providers.  It was identified that the qualification no longer met the needs of industry and should be expired.

The qualification has no providers with accreditation to deliver programmes, and has had no completions since listing in 2018.

Feedback on the proposed expiry was sought from stakeholder organisations and also through open public consultation via the Toi Mai website.

Feedback received supported the expiry of the qualification.
