Summary of development/review and consultation process

Ringa Hora Workforce Development Council has completed an early review of the qualifications above.

The Intelligence Review was initiated in August 2023 following an early review request for the New Zealand Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (Level 6) from industry and provider representatives. 

Consultation and review occurred between October 2023 to May 2024 in a series of online, face-to-face, email conversations. A working group was put together and consisted of industry, provider, and main users of the qualifications. There was also a consultation group who received all communications of the review and provided feedback through email or face to face meetings.

Main changes resulting from the development/review process

· Programme endorsement considerations added.

· Minor wording changes for clarity.

· References to resources and relevant legislation updated.

·

· New Zealand Certificate in Intelligence (Level 5) with strands in Collection, and Collation [Ref: 2394]

· Removal of the strands.

· Broadening the focus on information management for intelligence purposes.

· Reduction of credits from 75 credits to 60 credits.

· The body of changes above necessitated that a new qualification be created, and the existing qualification replaced.

New Zealand Diploma in Intelligence Analysis (Level 6) [Ref: 2396]

· Credit weightings for Graduate Profile Outcomes 1 and 2 were revised to better reflect the notional hours of learning and assessment.
