Summary of development/review and consultation process |
Waihanga Ara Rau and representatives from the heavy, light and reinforcing steel and precast concrete industry completed an early review of the New Zealand Diploma in Detailing (Structural) (Level 5) with strands in Light Steel Frame, Reinforcing Steel, Structural Steel, and Precast Concrete during October 2023 and May 2024. The review was initiated in October 2023 following the development of standards to support the qualification during which the industry groups involved identified changes to industry terminology and detailer responsibilities. Consultation and review occurred between October 2023 and May 2024 where employers and industry representatives were consulted to address the issues and ensure the qualification remained relevant and fit for purpose. Consultation documents were published on the Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Council website in October 2023. An industry advisory group considered the feedback with their recommendations informing the outcome of the qualification review. |
