Summary of the review and consultation process |
The review of the above qualifications commenced in December 2023 when internal reviews and feedback on the current programmes leading to the qualifications was considered. In February-April 2024, changes to the suite were recommended and distributed for consultation to key industry stakeholders in the screen, live performance, and events industries where graduates might expect employment opportunities. The feedback received agreed with the general direction of the changes and supported listing of the reviewed qualifications. Where appropriate, feedback was integrated into the final versions. |
Main changes resulting from the review process |
In both the New Zealand Diploma in Costume Construction (Level 6) [Ref 3424] and the New Zealand Diploma in Scenic Construction and Properties (Level 6) [Ref 3437]: · The strategic purpose statements were updated to more contemporary language and to clarify the level at which graduates can operate. · The graduate profile outcomes and general conditions wording were updated for clarity and to strengthen focus on professional practice. · Employment, cultural, and community pathways were strengthened to better reflect the range of opportunities available to graduates. New Zealand Diploma in Scenic Construction and Properties (Level 6) [Ref: 3437] · Education pathways amended to remove the New Zealand Certificate in Entertainment and Event Technology (Level 4) with strands in Entertainment Rigging, Lighting, Live Sound, Video, Stage Management, Stage Mechanics and Scenic Construction [Ref: 3417]. This is in line with changes to the stated pathways for this qualification subsequent to its review in 2021. |
