Summary

Muka Tangata was approached by Horticulture New Zealand to develop a micro-credential and accompanying skill standard in response to government legislation requiring growers to develop freshwater plans for their operations. This skill standard is designed to meet the requirements of the micro-credential in terms of helping growers identify, assess and mitigate risk to freshwater in their operations, thereby helping them develop their freshwater plans. Consultation was via a technical advisory group comprising growers, providers and various experts across the field e.g. fertiliser, soil, and Māori representation. The final draft was circulated via survey to a wider group of growers for their input.
