Planned review date December 2029
Summary
Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council undertook a combined review of the Commercial Road Transport (CRT) qualifications and unit standards in consultation with industry stakeholders, including employers and training providers. Online meetings were held from March-April 2024 to review unit standards under the road transport management and road transport operations domains. A goods service unit standard was also revised at the request of the industry association and training provider.
Main changes
· Guidance information, document formatting and standard setting body information were updated across the suite of unit standards.
· Unit standard titles, purpose statements and outcomes were amended where required to align with unit standard content.
· The unit standards 1777, 18110, 19498, 21874 and 21875 were reviewed in 2021 and as no known issues were identified, only the global changes outlined above were made. A last date of assessment has not been set for previous versions where there were no changes to unit standard content.
· Performance criteria and range statements were updated where relevant to reflect current industry practice and legislation.
· Unit standard 18962 was set to expire because it hasn’t been used in the past seven years. Training for taxi computer dispatch systems is commonly provided in-house since dispatch systems differ between businesses. Industry stakeholders identified that this unit standard wouldn’t be used in the future.
· Unit standards 21871, 21872 and 21876 were set to expire since they haven’t been used in the past five years. There are generic teamwork and leadership unit standards on the nzqa framework.
· Unit standard 22711 level was changed from 5 to 4 in response to feedback from industry stakeholders that this is appropriate level for content and a new outcome (2) was added.
· Unit standard 17679 was revised at the request of industry stakeholders due to changes in good practice guidelines for sideloaders. Guidance information was updated and new performance criteria were added (1.8, 4.3, 5.3, 6.4) to reflect the new good practice guidelines.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2027
