Summary of development/review and consultation process |
Muka Tangata Workforce Development Council completed the review of the qualifications listed above in December 2023. The review process began in May of the same year, with a series of consultation meetings that were held with seafood industry stakeholders, including: business owners; managers; leaders; iwi; providers; and associations. A steering group, and three sector working groups were formed to provide industry guidance to the review. Muka Tangata WDC conducted a public consultation survey and extended an invitation to the wider stakeholder network to make submissions for the review. This data was analysed, summarised and submitted to the steering group for consideration which provided its recommendations to Muka Tangata WDC in November 2023. As a result of the review process, two new qualifications were developed at Level 3 and 4, replacing the qualifications listed above. The Level 5 qualification was considered fit for purpose with minor amendments to ensure it remain current. The final drafts of the qualifications were advertised on the website, and the feedback was actioned where appropriate. |
