Summary

Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council, in consultation with stakeholders, has revised and rolled over forty-eight Aeronautical Engineering unit standards.

This will form part of several applications due to the number of unit standards going through the same maintenance process.

The opportunity was taken to carry out amendments for consistency of formatting styles and wording of unit standards within the domains.

The sector has confirmed that these standards are still fit for purpose, and with skill standards being developed to align with the Aeronautical Engineering suite of qualifications due for review by December 2027, agreed there is little benefit in making significant changes to these unit standards at this time.

·      Aeronautical Armament unit standards 4037, 17643, 17645, 17647, 17652, 17658, 17662, 17665, 17666, and 17667 have all received minor amendments for consistency.

·      Aeronautical Engineering Production Control unit standards 32829 and 32831 have had a definition added for consistency.

·      Aeronautical Storekeeping unit standard 15885 purpose statement received a minor amendment to the purpose statement for consistency with the title, and unit standard 15888 GI3 was amended to the correct CAA terminology.

·      Aircraft Mechanical Repair and Overhaul unit standards 3931 and 30696 have had the order of performance criteria 1.2 and 1.3 swapped for consistency, 3936 GI 3 was amended for consistency, and 3939 performance criteria 3.5 range amended for consistency.
