Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published May 2024
Planned review date December 2029
Summary
The review of unit standards was conducted in conjunction with the review of:
Hanga-Aro-Rau completed a combined review of the above qualifications in response to a request from industry. The technical advisory group consisted of MAST Academy, a key provider, and representatives from industry covering both fabrication and trimming. Thirteen new skill standards were developed to replace the 29 unit standards listed. One new skill standard was developed to meet the need identified by industry for an installation micro-credential.
Main changes
· 29 unit standards were set to expire and were replaced with 13 skill standards to reflect current industry practice.
· Skill standard 40032 was developed to address skills and knowledge gaps required for on-site installation of industrial fabrication products.
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2026
