Date new versions published                                                               May 2024

Planned review date                                                                              December 2029

Summary

The skill standards listed below were developed during the review of the forestry suite of qualifications and standards (Levels 2-6).  The review resulted in a new qualification, the New Zealand Certificate in Forest Industry Foundation Skills (Level 2) with strands in Harvesting, Silviculture, and Earthworks [Ref: 4918].  The skill standards listed below were developed to support provision of this new qualification and to meet the needs of pre-trade forestry learners.

Meetings with industry and providers for this phase of the forestry review were held between September and December 2023.  Participants ranged from forestry contractors, assessors, trainers, forestry owners, forestry workers and programme developers who supported the registration of the new standards.
