Summary

Toitū te Waiora reviewed the New Zealand Diploma in Youth Work (Level 6) [Ref: 3803] in 2022- 2023, and then developed a range of skill standards for assessment in programmes of study leading to it.  Based on the outcomes of skill standard development, further iterative changes were made to the qualification in 2024, with version 3 being published by NZQA in June 2024.

Development of Level 6 skill standards took place in 2023-2024 in consultation with the youth work sector.  The skill standards align with the New Zealand Diploma in Youth Work (Level 6) [Ref: 3803].
