Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council and a technical advisory group of industry representatives attended online meetings from June to August 2024 to review Infrastructure Works unit standards. Additional feedback on the unit standards was received during nationwide meetings, held from March to May 2024, in preparation for the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Infrastructure Works (Single Site Supervision) (Level 4) [Ref: 2617].
The content of the unit standards was generally considered to be fit for purpose.
Main changes
· Guidance information was amended to update legislative and industry requirements.
· Unit standard purpose statements and outcomes were amended where required to align with the unit standard content.
· Performance criteria and range statements were updated where relevant to reflect current industry practice.
· Unit standard 20876 title was amended to replace health and safety meetings with crew briefings.
· Unit standards 26786, 6465, 13520, 22276, 28726, 26781, 26783, and 31460 titles were updated to reflect current industry terminology.
· Unit standard 6442 title and content were amended to include establishing objectives and communicating expectations for the work programme.
· 26780 title and content were amended to include the assessment of worksite conditions.
