Summary of review and consultation process |
|
Waihanga Ara Rau and representatives from the roofing industry reviewed the New Zealand Certificate in Roofing (Installation) (Level 4) from June 2023 to April 2024. A technical advisory group with representatives from the roofing industry, qualification providers and RANZ conducted online meetings. The recommendations informed the qualification review, and amendments were made to the qualification content. The wider roofing industry was consulted again in May 2024 for final feedback. Documents and information about the review were published on the Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Council Website throughout the review period. Ongoing industry feedback opportunities were available during this period. |

- Qualification title change to include new strands- New Zealand Certificate in Roofing (Installation) (Level 4) with strands in Concrete or Clay Tile Roof, Liquid Roof Membrane Systems, Metal Tile Roof, Profiled Metal Roof and Wall Cladding, Shingle or Slate Roof, Single Layer Roof Membrane Systems, and Torch On Roof Membrane Systems. - Qualification credit range changed to 165-190. - Graduate profile outcomes (GPOs) amended to include the skills and knowledge required. - Graduate profile outcome credits amended to reflect the skills and knowledge required. - Strand and GPO 8 split into three separate membrane strands – GPO 6 Liquid Roof Membrane Systems, GPO 10 Single Layer Roof Membrane Systems, and GPO 11 Torch On Roof Membrane Systems. - Order of strands changed to alphabetise. - Education pathway amended to include the New Zealand Certificate in Construction Trades Supervision (Level 5) with strands in Commercial Construction, Construction Related Manufacturing, Construction Related Trades, and Residential Building [Ref: 4237]. - Qualification specifications amended to include updated evidence requirements and general conditions. - Transition information amended to reflect changes to dates and version. |
