Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above and the development of the skill standards listed below.

Summary
Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council consulted with employers, training providers and representatives from industry association PrintNZ to undertake a combined review of the fibreboard packaging qualifications below and associated unit standards.
· New Zealand Certificate in Fibreboard Packaging (Level 2) [Ref: 1818]
· New Zealand Certificate in Fibreboard Packaging (Level 3) [Ref: 1819]
· New Zealand Certificate in Fibreboard Packaging (Level 4) [Ref: 1820].
Regular consultation meetings were held online with a fibreboard packaging advisory group from September 2023 to July 2024 to discuss industry training requirements and review fibreboard packaging unit standards. Industry stakeholders identified that the fibreboard packaging unit standards are generally working well and are considered fit for purpose. In response to feedback from industry stakeholders, fibreboard packaging unit standards were replaced by skill standards. Content was refreshed where required to reflect current industry practices and terminology.
Main changes
· 10 unit standards were expired and replaced by 10 skill standards.
· Unit standards 27829 and 27822 were expired and replaced with skill standard 30217.
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2027
Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)
Where skill standards replace existing unit standards listed under CMR 0005, the CMR has been moved to CMR 0013.
