Registration of Core Planning and Construction skill standards
Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has registered new skill standards for the construction industry.
Date new versions published September 2024
Planned review date December 2029
Summary
The skill standards listed below were developed to align with the Introduction to Detailing (micro-credential). Development of both the micro-credential and standards began in consultation with industry representatives in January 2023 and concluded in May 2024.
Face to face and online meetings were held in 2023 and 2024 and were attended by industry representatives and a potential provider. The attendees outlined the skills required of an entry level detailer and the skill set was agreed on.
The standards recognise the necessary skill and knowledge required to enter a range of detailing roles and may be relevant to structural detailing, timber structure and joinery detailing.
