Registration of Joinery Core Skills skill standards
Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has registered new skill standards in the Joinery Core Skills domain.
Date new versions published September 2024
Planned review date December 2029
Summary
The development was initiated in response to a request from industry representatives for a qualification for joinery detailers as one does not currently exist.
The development was overseen by a specialist advisory group consisting of industry representatives with the appropriate knowledge and skills in joinery detailing, programme development, and assessment. The technical advisory group convened in February 2024 with online meetings to develop the skill standards held from February through to April 2024.
In May 2024 the draft standards were distributed for wider industry consultation with key stakeholders, including providers and the Master Joiners membership organisation, via the Waihanga Ara Rau website. All feedback was considered and actioned where appropriate.
Main changes
· Six new skill standards were developed to align to the New Zealand Diploma in Joinery Detailing (Level 5) [Ref: 5113].
