The Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

 

The review was initiated through their planned review date and the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Electronic Security (Level 4) with optional strands in Electrical Appliance Serviceperson (Endorsed), and Electrical Installer [Ref: 3818].

 

The review was announced on the Waihanga Ara Rau website and through industry newsletters.  Online meetings were held with representatives from the Electronic Security industry in June 2024. The unit standards were reviewed to ensure that they are fit for purpose and relevant to the Electronic Security industries. 

 

Main changes

 

·      Fifteen unit standards were rolled over with a new review date of December 2026.

·      Unit standards 5881, 5891, 5892 and 26841 guidance information and range statements were updated to meet current industry standards and requirements and a planned review date of December 2029.

·      Unit standard 5881 title was changed from Demonstrate knowledge of electronic security devices to Explain the purpose and application of electronic security devices.

 

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2026
