Summary

Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council has revised the collision repair unit standard listed above in consultation with stakeholders. Feedback was received from training providers that there was a lack of clarity in terminology and range statements used in the unit standard. This resulted in some uncertainty during assessment.

Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council undertook consultation with a quality assurance specialist, subject matter experts and training providers to rectify the identified issues. Changes are outlined below.

Main changes

·     The term ‘hydraulic jack’ was replaced with ‘hydraulic equipment’ in the unit standard title, purpose statement, outcomes and performance criteria because ‘jack’ is the incorrect term in this context.

·     A definition for ‘hydraulic equipment’ was added to the guidance information.

·     Range statement was added to outcome one to provide more guidance for assessment purposes.

·     Range statement in performance criterion 1.1 was adjusted and range statements were added to performance criteria 1.4 and 2.1 to provide more clarity for assessment.
