The Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau undertook a review of carpentry unit standards in 2024 and early 2025. This review aimed to ensure the standards reflect current industry practice, support learner progression, and align with the shift toward skill standard-based assessment.
Initial analysis included a review of skills and workplace learning practices, alongside consultation with employers, providers, and industry training representatives. Consultation activities included surveys, sector-specific hui, and Technical Advisory Group (TAG) workshops held between November 2024 and February 2025.
Wider consultation feedback, with the support of the TAG, finalised the skill standards. As a result, the unit standards listed above will be expired.
All providers with consent to assess the unit standards included in this review have been informed of the outcome and expiry of the unit standards in this application.

· All unit standards were designated expiring without replacement.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2028
