The next CMR review is planned to take place during 2030.

Summary of review

Hanga-Aro-Rau has worked closely with other Workforce Development Councils and NZQA to review and update its Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR) documentation and create a core CMR for all Hanga-Aro-Rau industry sectors. Hanga-Aro-Rau has consulted with industry, Tertiary Education Organisations and schools, to ensure the requirements are clear and accessible.

CMR 0014 will be the core CMR representing all Hanga-Aro-Rau industries.

Compliance with new requirements

Consent requirements will apply with effect from August 2025.

·       Any new applications for consent to assess will be required to comply with version 15 of this CMR.

·       All providers should refer to the requirements of CMR 0014 version 15 for information purposes when preparing an application for consent to assess standards in one of the other CMRs listed above. As the CMR requirements have not changed substantially, it is not expected to be a barrier for current consent to assess holders.

Moderation requirements will apply with effect from August 2025.  All providers should refer to the requirements of CMR 0014 version 15 for information purposes when participating in moderation processes against standards listed in one of the other CMRs listed above.  The moderation requirements in CMR 0014 version 15 align with best and current practice, so this is not expected to be a barrier for providers. Details of annual moderation requirements will be accessed through an embedded link in the CMR.

Organisations with consent to assess will be expected to be able to demonstrate compliance with the CMR from August 2025 onwards.
