Summary of development/review and consultation process |
Toi Mai worked with providers and industry to review this qualification. Key qualification review, development and consultation phases: · Industry wide wānanga in August 2024 to gather feedback about training for the industry. · Online meetings with providers and industry in November and December 2024. From these meetings it was decided that this qualification needed to be reduced to 120 credits, by splitting to create a new Level 5 qualification at 120 credits. · Formation of an advisory group followed by an advisory group hui held in Auckland in January 2025. Draft qualifications were produced at this hui. · Open public consultation April-June 2025 via the Toi Mai website and through advisory group networks. · Feedback received resulted in changes to some graduate profile outcomes and the addition of a pre-requisite to the Level 6 qualification.

Main changes resulting from the development/review process |
· The New Zealand Diploma in Performing Arts Technical Production (Level 6) credit value was reduced from 240 credits to 120 credits, the removed credits were split into a new 120 credit (Level 5) qualification. This change provides flexibility for providers and learners. · Strategic purpose was strengthened to reflect graduate outcomes. · Graduate profile was developed, including the addition of a new outcome for creative realisation. · Programme conditions have been revised to include requirements for programme entry, and diversity and inclusion. · The scale of change necessitated the reviewed qualification was replaced, and new Level 5 and Level 6 qualifications listed. |
