The Toi Mai Workforce Development Council has completed the review of these unit standards and propose expiring all unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published August 2025
Summary
Toi Mai Workforce Development Council undertook analysis of the above unit standards and identified that they have low or no usage. Following website consultation in June 2025 and targeted consultation with providers delivering sport and recreation qualifications, the decision was made to expire the unit standards as they no longer align with industry need.
Consultation included one provider who had reported two completions for 32044, 32045, 32046 in the past five years. No other providers have reported completions for the unit standards listed above.
Expiry of these unit standards is alongside the expiry of the associated qualifications:
· New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 4) Ref: 3229];
· New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 5) [Ref: 3230];
· New Zealand Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Community Development) (Level 5) [Ref: 3572];
· New Zealand Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Programme Management) (Level 5) [Ref: 3574];
· New Zealand Diploma in Facility Management (Level 6) [Ref: 3648].
Main changes
· Twelve unit standards set to expire and will not be replaced.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2025
