The Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council has completed the reinstatement and review of the unit standards listed above. The unit standard that has been reinstated is listed in bold.

Summary
This review was undertaken partly due to the request in early October 2024 from Ports Industry Association and MAST Academy to re-instate unit standard 9913, which will be included in the Gateway program from 2025. The Technical Working Group, consisting of schools participating in the gateway program and MAST Academy Transition Advisors, was set up to review unit standard 9913 together with the only other unit standard still active, 9917, as it was overdue for a mandatory review.
Main changes
· Unit standards were moved from the Marine Sales and Services domain to the more appropriate Boatbuilding domain.
· Unit standard 9913 was reinstated.
· Outcome statements in unit standard 9913 were updated to reflect current industry requirements.
· Performance criteria were updated to reflect current practices in the industry sector and were written in the active voice.
· The term boat building in the title and outcomes of unit standard 9917 was amended to boatbuilding to align with the domain name.
· Standard setting body was changed from New Zealand Marine and Composites Industry Training Organisation to Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council.
