Summary of review and consultation process |
|
Waihanga Ara Rau and representatives from the rigging industry reviewed the New Zealand Certificates in Rigging (Level 5) from December 2024 to April 2025. This followed the review of the New Zealand Certificates in Rigging (Level 3) [Ref: 2355] and (Level 4) [Ref: 2356] during 2024. A technical advisory group was established with representatives from the rigging industry across a range of rigger types; mechanical riggers, oil and gas riggers, construction riggers and steel riggers, education providers, and Scaffolding, Access and Rigging New Zealand (SARNZ) to provide industry input into the qualification review. Amendments were made to the qualification content to align with industry requirements. Final feedback on the changes was presented to SARNZ for consideration and confirmation. Information about the review was published on the Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Council website during the review period. |

- Mandatory skill standards were set into the conditions relating to the qualification outcomes. - Graduate profile outcomes were amended to include the skills and knowledge required of advanced riggers, with indicative credit values allocated to reflect these changes. |
