Summary

 

Muka Tangata – People, Food and Fibre Workforce Development Council has changed the scheduled review date of the unit standards in Equine Industry domain to maintain their currency and allow time for a review to take place before December 2028.

 

During 2023 and 2024, representatives of the equine industry provided feedback to Muka Tangata – People, Food and Fibre Workforce Development Council which triggered revisions to the equine qualifications.  As part of the consultation, Muka Tangata confirmed with industry stakeholders that the current unit standards are fit for purpose and that there is no capacity or desire to undertake a review at this time.

 

Main changes

 

·      The standard setting body details were changed from the Primary Industry Training Organisation to Muka Tangata – People, Food and Fibre Workforce Development Council in superseded templates.

·      The unit standards were moved from CMR 0018 to CMR 0052.

·      The web link to the Code of Welfare: Horses and Donkeys (2018) was updated in unit standard 23972.

·      The weblink to the Racing Integrity Board was updated in unit standard 23972.

·      The reference to the Racing Industry Transition Agency was updated to reference TAB New Zealand and the web link was updated in unit standard 23972.

·      Capitalization in the reference title of, Riding Horses on Farms – good practice guidelines, was corrected in unit standard 23973.
