The NZQA Maori Qualifications Services has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
The review was undertaken as part of the planned cycle of review of MQS unit standards. MQS along with whakaruruhau, reviewed the Tourism Māori unit standards to ensure that they remain fit for purpose are relevant, and meet the needs and aspirations of ākonga, whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori
Main changes
· Minor wording changes have been made to guidance information, outcomes and performance criteria for relevancy, consistency and to provide clarity for users, assessors and learners.
· Definitions have been updated.
· Grammatical errors have been corrected.
· Level 5 standards 17387, 17392, 17394, and 17395 have been rolled over for review in 2026.
· Unit standards 17391, 31070, and 17389 have an outcome removed, due to work required that exceeds credit notional hours of learning.
· Four new unit standards have been developed.
