Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council in consultation with the tactical reference group of industry representatives, and providers, support the review of the unit standards listed above.
These unit standards align to the occupational competency requirements for the Plumbing, Gasfitting, and Drainlaying sectors. In 2024 the Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drainlaying Board (PGDB) approved changes in the competency statements required for registration, necessitating an alignment of the corresponding unit standards.
All unit standards were updated in line with current industry practices, standards, acts and regulations.
Main changes
· Guidance information was amended to reflect off job delivery, legislation and changes in registration classes that take effect on 1 April 2025.
· The purpose statements were revised to reflect changes brought about by the 2024 PGDB competency changes.
· Outcomes and performance criteria were revised to align to the respective 2024. competency statements and to reflect the industry focus on sustainable practices.
· Standard Setting Body details were changed from Skills Organisation to Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is 31 December 2026
