Registration of Trailer Boat Systems and Boatbuilding unit standards
The Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council completed the development of the unit standards listed below.

Summary
The review of the New Zealand Certificate in Power Boat Systems Servicing and Repair (Technician) [Ref: 3848] and the New Zealand Certificate in Power Boat Rigging (Level 4) [Ref: 3847] qualifications identified the need for unit standard development on emerging technologies or competencies not currently covered in the existing unit standards.
Meetings took place between August 2024 and March 2025 and involved a provider and industry stakeholder representatives. As a result of these meetings new unit standards were developed to meet industry and emerging technology needs.
· Unit standards 33476 and 33480 were developed in response to emerging technologies.
· Unit standards 33474, 33475, 33477, 33478 and 33479 were developed to align with the graduate outcomes of the reviewed qualifications [Refs: 3848 and 3847] and current practice.
