Summary of review and consultation process |
Waihanga Ara Rau and representatives from the rigging industry reviewed the New Zealand Certificates in Rigging (Level 3) and (Level 4) from January 2024 to August 2024. A technical advisory group with representatives from the rigging industry across a range of rigger types; mechanical riggers, oil & gas riggers, construction riggers and steel riggers, education providers, and SARNZ. The recommendations informed the qualification reviews. Amendments were made to the qualification content. The wider rigging industry was consulted in September 2024 for final feedback. Documents and information about the review were published on the Waihanga Ara Rau Workforce Development Council Website during the review period. |

New Zealand Certificate in Rigging (Level 3) [Ref: 2355] · Graduate profile outcomes amended to include the skills and knowledge required of graduates and the outcomes intended. · Graduate profile outcome indicative credits amended/redistributed to align with content. · Qualification credits reduced from 75 to 60 credits to better reflect the time expected for a graduate to meet the GPOs and the removal of duplicated learning content. · Other sections in the qualification document have been updated to provide current and clear information.
New Zealand Certificate in Rigging (Level 4) with optional strands in Construction Rigging, and Telecommunications Rigging [Ref: 2356] · Graduate profile outcomes amended to include the skills and knowledge required of graduates and the outcomes intended. · Graduate profile outcome credits amended to align with content. · Qualification credits reduced from 65-75 to 60 credits to better reflect the time expected for a graduate to meet the GPOs, the removal of duplicated learning content across GPOs, and the removal of the optional strands. · The Construction Rigging and Telecommunication Rigging strands removed. The change recognises the variety of work context in which load systems are used to lift, move and handle loads. The naturally occurring evidence will demonstrate the work context and competency for that work context. · Other sections in the qualification document have been updated to provide current and clear information. |
