Summary

Waihanga Ara Rau developed this skill standard as a mandatory one to be used in programmes requiring knowledge and skills of temporary edge protection systems.

The development was overseen by a technical advisory group consisting of industry representatives with the appropriate knowledge and skills in edge protection, scaffolding and rigging, programme development, and assessment.  The technical advisory group convened in August 2024 with online meetings held from September 2024 through to November 2024 to develop the skill standard.

The draft skill standard was distributed for wider industry consultation with key stakeholders from edge protection, including providers and the New Zealand Association for Scaffolding, Access and Rigging (SARNZ).  All feedback was considered and actioned where appropriate.
