Summary of review and consultation process |
|
The qualification review of this suite of qualifications was delayed due to uncertainly in the sector. Ara Institute of Canterbury began a consultation process on the current qualification with key stakeholders throughout New Zealand. Feedback from the stakeholders involved in this qualification review was summarized and presented to the qualification developer (Ara Institute of Canterbury) where it was incorporated into the redevelopment of all three qualifications in this suite. Moderate changes were made to the qualifications. |

For all qualifications: - Updates to the Strategic Purpose statement to include graduate scope of practice. - Minor updates have been made to all three qualifications to reflect current qualification listing practices including: o Qualification Award o Evidence requirements for assuring consistency o Education Pathway o Employment and community pathway o Transition information For specific qualifications: - New Zealand Certificate in Interior Décor (Level 4) [Ref: 3664] o GPO1 Minor update to include specific reference to New Zealand industry. o GPO2 removal of wording ‘Apply knowledge of theory and practice’ in and rework GPO to be more specific. - New Zealand Diploma in Interior Design (Residential) (Level 5) [Ref: 3665] o GPO3 updated to reflect New Zealand industry practice. o GPO5 removed as the coordination aspect is already covered in GPO4. o GPO5 credit increase (from original GPO5) increasing further emphasis on business practices and procedures encompassing the original GPO6. - New Zealand Diploma in Interior Design (Commercial) (Level 6) [Ref: 3666] o GPO1 wording added to include relevant legislation compliance o GPO2 context changed to be more specific around projects. o GPO5 updated to remove the word ‘viable’ to allow for more abstract commercial interior solutions. |
