Summary of review and consultation process |
Hanga-Aro-Rau WDC reviewed these qualifications as part of a scheduled review. Neither qualification had been offered. The credit value was too high and seen as a barrier by industry, learners and providers and there were issues around the lack of standards available to meet the GPOs. An advisory group was formed combining the industry association and training providers. This group had the support of the wider industry who had previously expressed a strong need for new qualifications to be developed. This group collaborated over a series of online meetings to revise the qualifications. As the changes required were substantial, and new qualifications were developed to replace the existing qualifications. The new qualifications are fit-for-purpose and reflect current industry needs. The results of the review were communicated to the members of Irrigation New Zealand and shared with the members of the consultation group. The proposed changes have the support of the wider industry. |
