Toi Mai received a Provider request for an extension to the last date for assessment of superseded version 1 of the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Professional Stylist) (Level 4) [Ref: 2413]. This extension is to allow learners enrolled in New Zealand Apprenticeship programmes time to complete the qualification, while Providers transition to programmes leading to the current version. Learners have been made aware they are on programmes leading to the superseded version and will be supported to complete their apprenticeships or transition onto the current version as soon as possible. Industry have confirmed that learners who complete version 1 of the qualification will have the skills they require for carrying out services in the salon. It is expected that all enrolments from 30 June 2026 will be into programmes leading to version 2 of the qualification. No further extensions will be considered, and learners who do not complete by 31 December 2027 must be transitioned onto programmes leading to version 2 of the qualification. Transition plans to do this have been developed. |

(HITO) to Toi Mai Workforce Development Council. |
