Toitū te Waiora Workforce Community, Health, Education and Social Services Workforce Development Council has developed three new skill standards and reviewed the unit standards listed above.

Summary

 

Toitū te Waiora developed three new skill standards to replace the existing 6400 series first aid unit standards. The main reason for developing skill standards was to address credit related delivery issues with the current unit standards and to support conversion of existing first aid training schemes into new micro-credentials.

 

Consultation took place between May and June 2025. Further consultation on the new skill standards was sought through the Toitū te Waiora website in July 2025.

 

Main changes

 

·       Three new skill standards were developed to replace three unit standards – 6400, 6401, 6402.

 

Category C standards will expire on 31 December 2027
