Summary of revision and consultation process

Te Reo Matatini me te Pāngarau unit standards were revised because of grammatical issues that had arisen from the field following the last round of assessment undertaken end of 2024. Consultation involved gathering insights from subject matter experts, Kaiako, Ngā Kura a Iwi, Te Rūnanga Nui o Ngā Kura Kaupapa Māori and external markers, and NPAM (NZQA kaimahi) through hui and internal Ministry of Education feedback. Following this process a translator was approached to assist with the correction of differing aspects of all unit standards. The changes are summarised below.

Main changes

· Grammar corrected and included amendments to kupu.

· More clarity added regarding assessment length (minutes and kupu).

· Inclusion of kupu taka in unit standard document.

· Change to Taunakitanga (correct mode – Kete Manarua and TAPā, where applicable).

· Header and footer details were corrected.
