Summary of development and consultation process |
|
The Marine Pre-Trade qualification was developed in direct response to industry feedback highlighting the need for an entry-level qualification that supports workforce readiness and prepares learners/ākonga for employment and apprenticeship pathways. To guide the development process, a sector advisory group made up of representatives from across the marine industry was brought together to identify the essential skills and knowledge learners need upon completion of the qualification. Through a collaborative and consultative approach, the group defined the outcomes necessary to meet both current and emerging industry needs. The qualification was then developed to reflect these outcomes and were formally endorsed by the sector group, ensuring they are relevant, practical, and aligned with industry expectations. The qualification is designed to provide learners with the foundational skills, knowledge, and practical experience required for employment in the marine sector. |
