Summary
Muka Tangata has developed a new skill standard for Pest Control to meet identified industry needs of entry level standards in pest control. There are currently no pest control standards at entry level. Initial consultation was carried out with industry and providers, and in particular those providers who offered training through Trades Academy who have an interest in a Level 2 pest control standard.
This initial consultation was followed by wider consultation through online survey in June 2025 with the pest control industry, providers with consent to assess standards in the Pest Control domain and all providers who offered training through Trades Academy.
Feedback was received and incorporated where relevant.
