Reason for the development/review	The purpose of the review is to ensure the Māori Business and Management qualifications are relevant, fit for purpose and meet the aspirations and needs of whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori.

Summary of development/review and consultation process

The Māori Business and Management qualifications were reviewed in March 2025.

The Whakaruruhau Working Group (WWRG) members that participated in the review represented Māori business subject matter experts and tertiary providers who delivered programmes leading to the Māori Business and Management qualifications.

The mandatory review ensures the qualifications are relevant, fit for purpose and meets the aspirations and needs of whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori.

Wider consultation for feedback and comments was conducted via the NZQA website following the review.

Main changes resulting from the development/review process

Ngā mātāpono were updated to give expression and relevancy to Māori Business and Management.  

Strategic Purpose Statements and Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPOs) were updated to better reflect the intention of the qualifications and current need and practice.

Minor edits of the qualifications with a focus on grammar and language. Minor changes applied to show learning progressions, uniqueness, relevancy and purpose.

The Level 3 qualification [Ref: 3501] credit weightings were amended to reflect the changes in the Graduate Profile Outcomes.

The qualifications will next be reviewed in December 2028 to keep abreast of the changing market demand for programmes and provider delivery options.
