Summary of review and consultation process |
|
A review of the Ngā Taonga Tākaro qualifications was carried out to ensure their fitness for purpose. During consultation with the current provider of the Level 3 qualification, who also intend to introduce Levels 4 and 5, they advised that the qualifications remain fit for purpose with only minor changes. Subsequent consultation with current assessors and industry confirmed the 100s of hrs and many years of wānanga from many corners of Māoridom as well as people in various roles, places, & spaces originally inputted into these qualifications. Feedback also indicated they remain sufficiently broad content-wise to allow for each rohe to input their own kawa and tikanga, and mātauranga while still giving enough guidance to deliver what is appropriate in each situation. A review of related unit standards was carried out at the same time. |

Main changes resulting from the review |

· Wording across the qualifications, especially in the GPOs, was edited for accuracy, clarity, and consistency, however the overall intent remains the same. · References to the Skills Active Aotearoa website were removed and contact information was updated to Services Industry Skills Board. |
