Summary of review and consultation process

Toi Mai Workforce Development Council commenced the scheduled review of qualifications in April 2025.  This review was transferred to Electrotechnology and Information Technology Industry Skills Board (ETITC) in January 2026 to reflect VET reforms.

 

Key phases of the review included:

·       Consultation with industry and providers to gather feedback, in person, via email and online from April to November 2025.

·       Review meeting held online in September 2025.

·       Further consultation on draft revised qualifications was held by ETITC in January and February 2026.

 

The review resulted in the qualifications being determined fit for purpose with only minor changes being made to the qualifications’ conditions and graduate profile outcomes.

Main changes resulting from the review

The following changes applied to all qualifications:

·       Evidence requirements for assuring consistency section removed, as no longer required.

·       Standard Setting Body details updated.

New Zealand Certificate in Floristry (Level 2) [Ref: 2671]

·       Strategic purpose statement amended.

·       Graduate profile outcome (GPO) 3 amended.

New Zealand Certificate in Floristry (Level 3) [Ref: 2672]

·       GPO statements amended.

·       Credit allocations for graduate profile outcomes amended.

New Zealand Certificate in Floristry (Level 4) [Ref: 2673]

·       Strategic purpose statement amended.

·       Credit value increased from 90 credits to 120 credits to allow for a full time one year programme.  This additional time will allow for deeper learning and stronger skill development.

·       Education pathway section updated.

·       Practical experience information was added.

·       GPO statements and credit allocation amended to reflect current industry requirements.
