Summary

 

Transport Industry Skills Board has revised the air traffic services unit standards listed above in consultation with the key stakeholder. Feedback from the sole training provider and workplace was that due to the recent changes within the industry, the training and assessment of ab initio learners into both area control and approach control need increasing to reflect the actual hours learners are spending.

 

Transport Industry Skills Board undertook consultation with the subject matter experts and training provider to ensure the technical content of the unit standards remained correct. Changes are outlined in the main changes section below.

 

It is the intention of the Transport Industry Skills Board to update all the unit standards in the Air Traffic Services domain to skill standards during their next planned review.

 

Main changes

 

·     Credit value was increased to reflect the actual notional hours of learning and assessment required.

·     Reference to the Civil Aviation Act 1990 was updated to Civil Aviation Act 2023.

·     Contact details were updated from Ringa Hora WDC to Transport Industry Skills Board.

 

Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)

 

Standards were moved from CMR 0028 to CMR 0112.
