The Construction and Specialist Trades Industry Skills Board has completed the rollover of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published April 2026
Summary
The rollover of these expiring unit standards was initiated following confirmation that the standards are still actively used within two existing qualifications: the New Zealand Certificate in Concrete (Specialist) Level 4 [Ref: 4186] and the New Zealand Certificate in Foundation Construction Level 3 [Ref: 1814]. These qualifications are not scheduled for review until late 2028 and early 2029.
The last date of assessment was extended to 31 December 2029 to align with the scheduled review dates of the two associated qualifications. This timing avoids creating a gap for learners enrolled in the two programmes, as the current last date for assessment of 31 December 2027 does not align with the qualification review timelines. Work on the qualification reviews is planned to begin ahead of the scheduled review dates.
Extending the last date for assessment (LDA) to 31 December 2029 provides a practical transition period, allowing learners currently enrolled in the two programmes to complete their training, while supporting providers to transition to the new skill standards and review their programmes.
