Summary
Waihanga Ara Rau Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council reviewed these unit standards at industry’s request to update them to align with current industry practice, and to ensure that they are fit for purpose.
This recent review has been carried out to ensure that the unit standards were corrected to meet industry practice based on the feedback we received from the industry and providers on several issues with training and assessment following the previous review between September 2023 – April 2024.
Feedback received was reviewed and decisions were made in consultation with a group of subject matter experts and TAG group representatives resulting in the changes below.
Responsibility for these standards has been transferred from Waihanga Ara Rau WDC to the ISB to reflect VET reforms.
Main changes
· The title, guidance information, legislation, performance criteria and range statements were amended for both unit standards 23637 and 33426 to reflect the content and scope of the work required to meet current industry practice.
· Unit standard 33425 was designated expiring due to no usage and repetition of content with unit standard 23637.
· Unit standard 33426 credits increased from 5 to 10 to accurately reflect the notional hours required for learning and assessment completion.
