Summary

 

Waihanga Ara Rau in partnership with representatives from the traffic incident management industry reviewed the unit standards listed above during a scheduled review of the New Zealand Certificate in Traffic Incident Management (Level 3) [Ref: 4263].

 

Unit standards used in programmes that lead to this qualification were reviewed to ensure they are fit for purpose. The decision was made to expire these standards and develop new skill standards.

 

The review and skill standards development took place between May and September 2025. Input and feedback for the review and skill standards development was supplied by industry, providers and subject matter experts through online meetings and emails.

 

Main Changes

 

·         Five unit standards were designated as expiring as industry determined they were no longer needed.

·         Five new skill standards were developed to meet industry requirements.

·         Standard Setting Body details were updated to expiring standards to reflect the change from Connexis Industry Training to Energy and Infrastructure Industry Skills Board.

·         The CMR for the skill standards is 0120.

 

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2027.
