Summary

Toitū te Waiora has developed four new skill standards to provide learning and assessment for new Level 4 and Level 5 micro-credentials concerning family violence risk and safety practice. The standards will also be available for assessment in existing Level 4 and Level 5 health and wellbeing programmes of study. The primary reason for developing new skill standards was to map assessment against the Centre for Family Violence and Sexual Violence Prevention’s Family Violence Risk and Safety Practice Framework.

Consultation with subject matter experts took place between May and September 2025. Public consultation on the new skill standards was then sought through the Toitū te Waiora website in September 2025.

These standards were transferred from Toitū te Waiora WDC (6048) to the Education, Health and Community Industry Skills Board (20595) to reflect the 2025 VET reforms.
