Summary of republication and consultation process |
|
Hanga-Aro-Rau Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics Workforce Development Council undertook a review of two passive fire protection qualifications in 2025 to determine if the qualifications were still fit for purpose. Responsibility for these qualifications was transferred from Hanga-Aro-Rau to the Manufacturing and Engineering Industry Skills Board to reflect the VET reforms. Additional consultation was undertaken in early 2026 with representatives from the Fire Protection Association New Zealand (FPANZ), employers and training providers to confirm skill standard 41266, which was developed specifically for the new elective strand in Advanced Installation for the New Zealand Certificate in Passive Fire Protection Systems (Level 4) with strands in Routine Compliance Inspections, and Construction Monitoring [Ref: 2581], should be mandatory. All changes were made in close consultation with stakeholders. |
