Summary of development/review and consultation process |
|
The Tiaki Mokopuna (formerly Māori Worldview of Early Learning) qualifications were scheduled and triggered for review in 2025. The NZQA website was updated signalling the review and published the Review Plan and Terms of Reference. The Whakaruruhau Working Group (WWRG) members that participated in the review represented Early Learning registered teachers, industry, and tertiary providers who delivered programmes leading to the Tiaki Mokopuna qualifications. The mandatory review ensures the qualifications are relevant, fit for purpose and meets the aspirations and needs of whānau, hapū, iwi and hapori. Wider consultation for feedback and comments was conducted via the NZQA website for a duration of four weeks. |

Main changes resulting from the development/review process |
|
§ Amendments made to the strategic purpose statements to align with the updated (2025) qualification types and level descriptors. § Minor amendments applied to the GPOs across the suite to include the appropriate verb at each level and minor amendments made for clarity and relevance in an Early Learning setting. § Minor changes applied to the mātāpono for clarity. The mātāpono are consistent across the Tiaki Mokopuna suite of qualifications. § Minor amendments made to the employment, cultural, community pathway for relevance and currency. § Programme conditions updated for relevance and currency such as updating relevant legislative links. |
