We are undertaking some important system updates between 5pm and midnight on Monday 18 March.

Outcome 1: Marketing and promotion

This outcome covers how you market and promote your organisation to international students as an educational service.

Marketing and promotion to prospective international students must include clear, sufficient and accurate information enabling students to make informed choices about the services provided.

The intent

The intent of this outcome is to ensure prospective students and their families have a full and realistic picture of what it will be like to live and study in New Zealand.

Students and their families require detailed information to enable them to make a sound decision. This includes costs they may face, the reality of day-to-day life, and where relevant, what kind of employment opportunities students are likely to have during and after study.

It is important that this information is regularly reviewed and updated.

All documents used should be approved by a signatory's governing board and independent legal advice should also be sought.

Education New Zealand (ENZ)

ENZ raises awareness of New Zealand as a study destination and supports education providers and businesses to export their services and products.

Education New Zealand has offices in a number of countries across the world. You can search for the contact details of staff depending on their location or their team.

Their website contains valuable information on marketing and promotion:

  • The Skills Lab covers international recruitment and includes topics like create your organisation's story and etiquette tips for your markets.
  • The Brand Lab allows you to access or request permission to download a wide range of resources you can use in your promotions: 500+ images, videos, online advertising, brochures, posters, ads, presentations and templates.
