Changes were made to the standard in consultation with the Ministry of Health to align with current terminology and practice.
December 2019 – Revision and rollover

The National Cervical Screening Programme (Ministry of Health) and the national moderator confirmed that the standard remains fit for purpose, and therefore a revision and rollover was completed.
July 2016 – Review of Cervical Screening unit standard

Unit standard 29556, Conduct cervical screening was listed in July 2016. This unit standard replaced Unit Standard 1098, Perform cervical screening and cervical smear taking which expired on 31 December 2018.
