Mathematics for the Workplace unit standards

Current

NZQA National Qualification Services (NQS) has reviewed unit standard 5236, Use Pythagoras' theorem and trigonometry to solve problems related to right-angled triangles in the workplace.

This one credit unit standard has been recommended for expiry as part of a scheduled review and following research that identified low and declining usage over time. The content is also covered in achievement standard 91032, Apply right-angled triangles in solving measurement problems.

The application to expire this standard is currently being evaluated by NZQA’s Quality Assurance unit.

Standard setting responsibilities for this unit standard have been transferred to Waihanga Ara Rau (Construction & Infrastructure) Workforce Development Council.  For more information and/or comments please email info@waihanga.nz.

Main changes

  • Unit standards 5223 and 26567 were designated expiring and will not be replaced.
  • Unit standard 5236 was moved to the new template and planned review date was extended to 31 December 2021
